I notice Burpee carries "Heatwave II" for high temperature fruit setting. Are there other varieties that will set fruit above 70 Degrees F at night? The Fla Ag Exp Station said that was the problem I had last year. I had vines to 7 feet but almost zero fruit.

There is a variety called SolarSet that will set fruit in
hotter weather. Along with Heatwave II, Solarset will be
your best variety for planting late in the season. My
most dependable variety in the Jacksonville area is Better
Boy. I havealso had success with Celebrity. Both of
these varieties are resistant to nematodes and the wilts
(fusarium and verticilluim). My big problem here in
Jacksonville is nematodes. For an early crop Early Girl
is a good variety.
