|I have just purchased a climbing hydrangea and want it to fill in an area on the North side of my house. I have vinyl siding and am wondering if I need to use a trellis or will it climb on the vinyl siding. Do I need to be concerned about anything else? Thank you|
|As with any self clinging vine, this one has the potential to damage vinyl siding by pulling it loose or causing it to bend or warp -- it becomes heavy in time as it puts on size. Also if your siding is very smooth it may not be able to cling as well as it could on a rough surface such as stone or bark. For these reasons you might want ot supply a trellis or some guide wires for it to go up at least at the initial stages. Here is some additional information you may find helpful. YOu may need to cut and paste the complete url into your browser ot make it work correctly. This is a great plant, it is worth the wait while it establishes.
