|Dear sir or madam,
I am trying to find the proper location in my home to place my Japanese Aralia. I believe it is getting too much light & leaves are falling off of it. However, new growth is still showing. Several sites have said part sun to shade. Please help me out. Thank you.
|This plant likes it quite bright but tolerates only indirect light or filtered through a sheer curtain for example. The brighter it is the more water it will need; check to be sure the soil is damp and not dried out between waterings. On the other hand, do not overwater so it is saturated or sopping wet. This plant tolerates average home temperature but actually prefers it on the cool side, days about 50 to 60 degrees and nights about five degrees cooler. aralias tend to drop foliage if overwatered or if grown in a spot that is not bright enough. IF this is a new plant, you may want to make your best guess where to put it then allow it several weeks to become acclimated to that location. Moving is always a stress on plants.|
