In that size range you might actually want to consider large shrubs that can be trained into tree form such as PeeGee hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata) or dwarf red-leaf plum (Prunus x cistena) in addition to very small cultivars of crabapple such as Malus x Coralburst and possibly smaller deciduous magnolias such as Magnolia x Ann. Your local professional nursery staff and/or county extension may have some additional suggestions based on a more detailed understanding of the growing conditions where you want to plant the tree and your design goals. Good luck with your project!
