| I have several roses. Some of the leaves have started to curl up, on two of the plants, and don't look well. When I uncurl the leaf there is some discoloration. Like little marks or swirls. |
Also one has been getting some leaves that are truning yellow and brown from the tip of the leaf back, then falling off. One day there will be a small tip of yellow or brown the next day, half the leaf will be dark green on the back and yellow/brown on the front half. This happens to all the group leaves of that stem, but not all of the leaves on that branch. It's as though they were drying up and dying. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Jim Preece
This is strange indeed. My first impression is that the soil is droughty and the plants are lacking water or due to some other root injury the plants are not able to take up water efficiently. Very chunky organic matter and poor root to soil contact at planting can be a factor in such symptoms. It may also be that some chemical was used around or on the plants to cause these symptoms. A final thought is that overfertilization may have burned some roots causing these symptoms.
I suggest you take a plant sample and/or some photos to your local County Extension Office for them to look over and perhaps be able to diagnose more clearly.
Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
