What's a quick way to distinguish between veronica and perennial blue salvia?

Veronica is a creeping, herbaceous perennial with summer clusters of blue flowers at the leaf axils (space between the leaf and the stem where it is attached). Blue Salvia has spikes of true blue dried flowers, similar in looks to lavender.
