I just purchased several Flower Carpet Yellow Groundcover roses and was interested in how to take care of them i.e. pruning, etc.

These are very low maintenance roses. They should be planted in full sun and in soil that drains well, they should also have good air circulation. Mulch over the root area with several inches of organic mulch year round but do not allow it to touch the stems. In winter you can add a bit deeper layer. In spring, trim them back to remove any winter damage or to about half their size, whichever is smaller. During summer you can shear lightly to remove faded flowers if you wish but it is not necessary. As far as fertilizing, a spring application of a good quality compost as a top dressing is great, you can also apply a general purpose granular or slow release fertilizer per the label instructions in early spring and again in June. Enjoy your new roses!
