I just bought ahome in Houston and the backyard has no trees. What can I plant that will produce shade in a year or two?

Some good choices for backyard shade trees include Morus (fruitless mulberry), Acer palmatum (big leaf maple) and Prunus 'Hally Jolivette' (flowering cherry). All trees are moderately fast-growing and have large leaves to provide dense shade.
