The black spots are on the stock, I though it was just on the old leaves but now I have found it closer to the center of the tree. It puts on new leave at an on going rate and the leaves are getting bigger as it grows. I just not known if this is normal for a banana tree and if not how to get rid of it.

Uniform black spots (all the same size) can be normal, as can black streaks. If the black spots differ in size or appearance, you may be dealing with a disease of some sort. Wish I had more to offer, but without seeing the the banana tree, it's hard to diagnose a problem.
