Are there any drought tolerant climbing vines that can be planted on a northern exposure? |
I can think of only 3 shade tolerant vines that are drought tolerant once established: Bignonia capreolata (Cross Vine) grows in full sun to part shade; moist, well-drained soils; evergeen; spreads quickly! Campsis radicans (Orange Trumpet Vine); full sun to part shade; moist, well-drained soil; cold and salt tolerant; spreads quickly! Lonicera sempervirens (Coral honeysuckle); full sun to part shade; does best in moist, fertile soil but will tolerate drought. Hope one of these suggestions is just right for your garden! |
