ITALIAN CYPRESS, CARING FOR IN COLORADO - Knowledgebase Question

CENTENNIAL, CO
Question by RONWSMITH

Hi,
Will Italian Cypress survive in the more easterly/arid side of Denver, Colorado? Will they survive the winters here, and should I take special precautions? Will their root system damage patios?
Is there any special or general instructions for planting these in Colorado?
Thank you,

Ron

Italian cypress is rated for USDA cold zones 7-10, and I believe you are in either a 4 or 5, so your winters would be too cold. Plants can sometimes survive one zone difference, but 2 oe 3 would be pressing it.
