How large will a Scotch Pine 'French Blue' get to be in the upper midwest? I live in zone 4, just 12 miles west of Minneapolis, MN. Thank-you, Loretta Stoltz |
Pinus sylvestris 'French Blue' - 'French Blue' Scotch Pine is hardy to Zone 2 and will grow 30-60' tall and about 30' wide at maturity. Its twisted evergreen needles are 1 to 4 inches long, yellow-green or blue-green, and borne in bundles of two. Its beautiful peeling bark is brown with orange patches. Like many two-needled pines, it tolerates adverse conditions such as sandy soil, drought, and cold. |
