Some people object to the odor of boxwoods, usually especially when they are damp from rain or dew or very humid weather, or are in a spot with little air circulation. Some people think it stinks, other people simply consider it to be "musky" and some do not notice it. You could visit them at the nursery and see if it bothers you. You can plant container grown boxwoods any time the ground is not frozen. Make sure to keep the soil evenly moist (not sopping wet) and use an organic mulch layer several inches thick over the root area (do not allow it to touch the stems). I hope this helps.
