My Polemonium 'Snow and Sapphires'has started seeding. Can I trim these back? They look very straggly. Will they come back out? I am in Zone 7. I have put some of seeds in a small ziplock. Can I plant these now? |
Polemonium usually self seeds where it is happy -- shady, evenly moist, organic and humusy soil, a mulch layer that is rotted down and makes a good seed bed. So I would suggest you plant them right away as would occur in nature. You can trim them back if they look scraggly, yes. (If you want them to self seed you would wait until after the seeds have matured and dropped -- or been collected.) Here is more information on growing this plant that you might find helpful. You may need to cut and paste the complete url into your browser ot make it work correctly. http://www.mobot.org/gardening... |
