Are mimosa trees male and female? And if so, how do you tell one from the other?

The flowers on mimosa trees can be bisexual, or at least some flowers are unisexual; with male and female flowers on different plants. Monrovia grows mimosa from cuttings rather than from seeds so you can be assured you'll get a female (which bears more flowers) if you purchase Monrovia stock.
