|Our landscaper planted 3 Dwarf Bottlebrush from Monrovia in early May. He told us that the plants would bloom most of the year and your literature from the plants themselves state the flowers will be heaviest in spring and summer. The plants had flowers on them for only one month and then all dropped off and have not put on new blooms since then. Why have the plants not put on new blooms? Is the information we received from the landscaper and your literature incorrect in the flowering season? When can we expect to see new flowers on these plants again?|
They should bloom longer than yours did this year. The transplanting process is a difficult one for new plants. The first year they are primarily putting energy into establishing a good extensive root system and thus do less blooming that first year. By next spring and summer they should be blooming more normally if all is well in their growing location....good sun, drainage, moist soil (not soggy), moderate fertilizer, etc.
