I just purchased a Purple Queen Bougainvillea, in your pot 10 |
Bougainvillea is too tender to remain outdoors in western Washington, but you can overwinter it in a bright spot that remains above freezing. I'd sink the pot into the ground so it's easy to move when the temperatures begin to drop. Bougainvilleas don't like to have their roots disturbed so repot only when absolutely necessary, and then only in the winter, when the plant is dormant. It's currently in a 3-gallon pot and can go into a 5-gallon pot in 2-3 years. Best wishes with your Purple Queen! |
