This type of foliage symptom can indicated transplant stress, moisture stress, heat stress or all three. It can also indicate a soil problem such as excess fertilizer or even something like accidental chemical exposure. I would suggest you contact your retailer and/or county extension for help in determining specifically why it is browning around the edges. Based on knowing that, you can determine how to proceed.

In the meantime, make sure that you are watering as needed to supplement rain so that the soil stays evenly moist. This means damp like a wrung out sponge, not sopping wet or saturated. To know if you need to water, dig into the soil with your finger. If it is still damp, you do not need to water yet. When you water, water slowly and thoroughly; apply it at the root area not to the foliage and be sure it soaks in throughout the root zone and deep into the soil. Aftr watering, wait a few hours and then dig down and see how far the water went; this can be surprising. There should also be several inches of organic mulch over the root area.

It is never a good idea to fertilize a tree that seems to be having a problem, this can add even more stress. Good luck with your tree!
