Elderberry Bush - Knowledgebase Question

I recently purchased an Elderberry bush, planted it in full sun and water it regularly. I've noticed that the newer leaves are curled when they begin to sprout out - eventually they have uncurled themselves, and the plant is also flowering - the flowers buds are looking healthy. Do you know what could be causing the new leaves to be curled? Too much water? To much initial fertilzer?

Thanks for your help and knowledge!

What you're witnessing is a normal function of your elderberry. Leaves form in round buds and as each leaf unfurls it expands in both width and length. As long as the leaves and flowers look healthy, and your plant is putting out new growth, it's perfectly happy. Enjoy!
