I am in the process of planning the landscaping of a new house. I am interested in what will flourish in zone 7B a few blocks from the ocean? Thank you for your help.

Since this is a new house, you will need an overall plan to help you decide where it would be appropriate for example to use a tree or a group of shrubs, or perhaps a groundcover. Then I would suggest you look at nearby landscapes that have a similar orientation to the ocean and wind and see which plants seem to be doing particularly well there, and decide which of those plants you especially like. That type of research and preparation will help you to select plants that are well suited to the site and that will enhance your home. You might wish to consult with a landscape architect with local experience, a landscape designer, or with your county extension and local professional nursery staff to help you develop your master plan and select specific plants. Enjoy your new landscape!
