I would like to put a Sasanqua Camella (one with white flowers-Setseg?) in front of my living room window. It has a Southern
Exposure in Calif. wine country. One retailer told me it would
do fine and another said it could not take the heat. Your opinion?
Thank you very much.

Camellias grow and bloom best when protected from strong sun. The problem I see in planting near your livingroom window is reflected and/or reflected heat. You may be disappointed in a camellias performance in such a hot area. Perhaps you'd be happy with a different shrub? Viburnum x carlcephalum, the fragrant snowball bush, will grow in the site you describe. As an added bonus, the flowers have a heavenly scent!
