We recently purchased and planted a Flower Carpet Appleblossom Rose. At first the flowers were a light pink color. As it is re-flowering they are white. What is the cause of this color change? We really wanted the pink flowers.

This rose has pinker buds and the blooms open pale pink or with a blush of pink and then as they mature will whiten, especially during the summer heat, so there is almost a two-tone effect. Some gardeners find this effect enchanting. But if you need a consistently pink rose, you might look at Flower Carpet Pink instead.
