|I have several Japanese Yew plants in my back yard. I am trying to find more of them but I am having a hard time identifying exactly what kind I have. They are very low to the ground and have fan like branches, they do not grow tall they grow more wide than tall. Could you possibly help me identify what the exact name is by the information I have given you. Thanks|
The Monrovia variety that best fits that description is EMERALD SPREADER JAPANESE YEW
(Taxus cuspidata 'Monloo').
Other types of yews with that general shape are:
Taxus x media 'Tauntonii'
SELECT DENSE SPREADING YEW
Taxus x media 'Densiformis Select'
DENSE SPREADING YEW
Taxus x media 'Densiformis'
You may also want to go to the following web site which will allow you to search for Monrovia plants by name, and type in "yew". You'll get a listing of varieties which you can select from for more info and in some cases a photo.
Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
