|I want to start mint from seed but was told it is very difficult. I planted 5 seeds about 1 week ago and still nothing has germinated. Should I plant allot of seeds in one small pot and see what takes then thin out?|
|Mint seeds should germinate in 2-3 weeks when planted in moist seed starting mix and kept at 70F degrees. If you seeds did not germinate, they may have been old seeds, they may have been buried too deeply in the potting medium, or the soil may have dried out during the germination process. Try again, sprinkling the seeds on the top of moistened seed starting mix and then sprinkling a light coat of additional seed starting mix over the top. Water well, then water often enough to keep the soil from drying out.|
I'd broadcast the seed. When the plants develop two sets of leaves you can dig and transplant the extras. Enjoy!
