|I have two flower beds one aroun my mailbox and one in the back yard, however the plants growing there look wild, not to mention both areas are getting overcome by weeds and bermuda grass. I have tried spot treating witha weed killer but at this point in time I just want a fresh start, how can I get rid of EVERYTHING so I can start over the right way?|
I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. We are transitioning to a new Q&A system and your question was unfortunately lost in the transition. I have discovered it now and hope this reply is not too late to be of help.
The best way to get rid of everything is with a spray of glyphosate (Roundup is one brand). Make sure the weed are actively growing, not drought stressed, for maximum results. Wait a week after spraying and then rototill or spade the area to prepare for planting. In the future try maintaining a 2-3 inch mulch layer around plants to deter annual weed seeds from germinating.
Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
