Daylilies usually bloom very nicely the year after dividing as long as they are replanted in well prepared soil and are kept watered until they re-establish. Keep in mind that the larger the division the larger the plant the next year, and that single fan divisions for example may not bloom until year two. Late summer is a good time to dig and replant daylilies, this allows them ample time to re-root before winter.
