We have a mimosa tree whose roots have grown under our neighbors privacy fence and is causing the wood panels to fall over. What is the best way to kill the roots? Or is it best to have them professional removed?

It may be possible to cut the roots off at the property line, but it really depends on how many roots are involved and how large they are. You wouldn't want to remove anything that is anchoring the plant or remove such large roots that the health of your mimosa might be compromised. I think this might be a job for a certified arborist. Most will visit and survey the situation, then make recommendations, based upon the size and health of the tree. Best wishes with your mimosa!
