I recently found some very young mimosa seedlings and have transplanted one to my yard. The blooms on the full grown trees around the seedlings range from light to dark pink. Do the blooms start out a lighter shade of pink on the younger trees and then turn a darker pink as the the trees ages?

There can be some color change as the blooms age, but there is also color variation from plant to plant because they are seedlings adn thus not identical. Some will have a deeper shade and some a lighter shade of pink, some will have better overall blooming than others, too. Enjoy!
