When is besdt time to trim Boxwood Holly

Both boxwood and holly can be lightly trimmed in midsummer, do not prune in late summer or fall. You can also selectively thin and trim these in late winter to very early spring. Broken or damaged branches can be removed at any time. Both plants actually have a fairly tidy, regular shaped natural outline without much trimming at all. I hope this answers your question.
