What is a good minature rose that we could use on a terrace landscaping. We have the Cupcake Rose now and would like to add some more minature roses to the terrace. Also, what would be a hardy house plant to put in a window on the East side of the house. Thank You. Forgot to say, our terrace faces North where the Cupcake Rose is now and it is in full sun.

There are so many miniature roses to choose from, I don't know where to start. I think I'd choose my favorite color, but here are several for you to choose from:
Apricot Twist; Well formed buds and flowers of unique apricot yellow with brownish tints. The double fragrant flowers grow with strong stems on bushy plants.

Charlie Brown; This unique little mini rose makes a neat rounded plant about 10-12" high and covers itself with double 1-1/4 red and white striped flowers. An
excellent plant for pots and borders.

Halo Sunrise; This bright yellow 8-10 petal flower is the most popular Halo to date. Vigorous, healthy bush, fast repeat bloom and brilliant flowers.

Just For You; A vigorous free flowering plant with lovely light red or deep pink buds opening into 1-1/2 double flowers of the same color. An ARS Award of excellence winner for 1991.

Lavender Delight; A really dependable and showy lavender mini. Healthy, upright plant to "14. Very free bloom in clusters and the color holds up in hot weather,
10 to 12 petals. Medium green semi-glossy foliage.

Secret Recipe; Pointed, mossy buds open to deep wine to red 1-3/4" semi-double striped flowers having bright, contrasting yellow stamens. Vigorous, upright
growth adds to the quality of this variety. The ever changing colors are hard to capture in a photograph.

Hope one of these miniature roses appeals to you.

As for a hardy houseplant - pothos is always a good choice. It grows almost anywhere and seems to thrive on neglect. Just think what a beautiful specimen you'll have if you give it TLC!
