In your casual country garden plant list there is one plant that is not hardy for zone 5 where I live, Dwarf Lily of the Nile (agapanthus africanus 'peter pan') can you suggest a couple of similar plants that I could use in it's place?

You can grow Agapanthus 'Bressingham Blue' (Blue Lily of the Nile) which is hardy in Zones 5-9. It grows in sun or light shade. This is a Headbourne Hybrid with clusters of trumpet shaped flowers borne on stiff stems which rise above strap-like foliage. It is a clump forming variety and quite vigorous. MULCH WELL OVER WINTER. It likes moist but well-drained soil. Hope this plant works well in your landscape!
