In your area where summer temperatures are high and the sun is intense, a hydrangea can handle full sun in the morning if the soil is kept evenly moist (not sopping wet, just damp like a wrung out sponge) but I would not recommend it for full sun all day or full sun all afternoon -- it is just too hot. Bright dappled light all day would be fine, also. I hope this helps.
