|I have two minature hydrangeas. 1 Pink Elf French and 1 unknown which is a purple/blue. I am looking for other colors for my container patio. Any suggestions. The pink elf is from Monrovia and the unknown is from Hines Nurseries. Thanks|
|Here are a few suggestions to add to your collection:
?Samantha? ( H. arborescens radiata) A very cool new sterile selection with big, silver white, snow ball flowers that look more like a H. macrophylla bloom than an arborescens radiata bloom. A very impressive plant that is certain to be a bit hit. Attractive foliage has silver white color on the underside of the leaves. Adaptable to light shade. Zone 4, 3-4 feet
H. involucrata; A wonderful species with unique and ornamental globular, peony-like flower buds which open into lilac to powder blue lacecap flowers in late summer. Compact habit and velvety leaves. Zone 6, 3-4 feet
?Komachi? This is the same plant that has been misnamed ?Pretty Maiden. Stunning, irregular mop-head blooms with elongated, pink doubled flowers. Flower color ranges from clear blue to soft pink depending upon pH. The plant is a compact 3-4? in height.
Huge pendulous blooms with doubled flowers. Flowers open white, while the older sepals turn dark purple-pink to create a unique show. A graceful weeping habit and wonderful burgundy-red fall color. Zone 5, 3-4 feet, Full Sun Partial Shade
Enjoy your new plants!
