I bought one of your plants at Stein Garden Center. It has dark green, very dense foliage w/narrow leaves and very tine 6-petal deep pink flowers (1/4 to 3/8 inch wide at most). It grows in a mound. It came without the tag and when I went back to ask what it was, no one could give me an answer. It's not creeping phlox, nor heather. Someone thought it might be dianthus, but it is much too fine to be that, I think. Any idea? It was sold in the shadier area. Thanks! |
Off the top of my head I am picturing the diminutive Dianthus gratianapolitanus "Tiny Rubies" although I suspect the flowers are too large and it is a sun lover. Thrift or Armeria would not be it, either, for the same reasons. It might be an Ophiopogon of the foliage is truly narrow blades, http://www.mobot.org/gardening... Could it be Dodecatheon? http://www.mobot.org/gardening... Silene? http://www.mobot.org/gardening... I'm sorry I can't be more specific for you. |
