I had a mimosa tree and we cut it down but now I seem to have
a large amount of little trees growing all over my yard. How do
I get rid of them? I mean cutting them back and putting weed
killer on them doesn't seem to help. They just keep popping up
all over the place. Are Mimosas know for spreading seeds so profusely?

Please help.

Mimosas are known for nuisance seeding about, yes. They have a strong deep root system so it will take repeated cutting or herbicide treatments to control them. It works best to pull the seedlings out of planting beds when they are just a few inches tall -- pulling right after a good rain makes it easier to get the entire root on first try. This is important because they will regrow from the root until the root is exhausted. If they are in a lawn area, the repeated mowing will exhaust them eventually.
