I have carnations planted in a pot outside of my home and am wondering should I plant it in the ground for winter or should I leave it in the pot and bring it indoors. Either way how do I prepare it for winter to give it the best chance for next summer. |
Carnations are biennial in your gardening zone and will thrive outdoors in a sunny spot, in rich, well-drained soil. Plant your carnations in the ground now and the roots will become established before cold weather sets in. Mulch over the top of the soil after the tops of the plants die down this winter. Enjoy your fragrant carnations! |
