|My pecan trees are not doing very well. When should I feed or spray them and with what.|
|Without a description of the specific symptoms your trees are experiencing it is difficult to identify why they are not doing well. The University of New Mexico has a publication on Pecan Disease http://www.cahe.nmsu.edu/cahe/...
It explains the symptoms and recommend treatments for the most common potential problems of Pecans. (Freeze injury, nutrient deficiency, herbicide injury, pest problems, salt burn, etc.)
They have a second publication on general care of pecans
which covers pruning, fertilizing and zinc application. The general recommendation is to fertilize in March, May and July with nitrogen and spray on micronutrients including Zinc 4 or 5 timesa year.
If the publications are not helpful to you in trouble shooting your problem, please write back describing the symptoms you notice on the tree and how you have watered and fertilized in the past.
