My cunningham's rhododendron bloomed in the spring and is beginning to bloom now. Is this common?

It is not all that common but it is not unheard of, either. Sometimes rhododendrons and also magnolias will bloom erratically here and there in the summer and fall. They usually have plenty of buds that will open normally the following spring so I consider it a special bonus event when they do this. Enjoy!
