I really want a tri-color beech here . Has anyone tried it at zone 8? Our water-table is high and I know they like water. I had one in Pittsburgh and would love one here at carolina beach area. thanks for info. Val

Tri-color beech is not rated hardy in zone 8, but if you have a protected site, it may do just fine. Try planting one in a container and moving the container in the winter to a site protected from strong winds. I think it's worth a try!
