We have one clump of a Miscanthus sinensis grass. It is about 6 ft tall, has green folige with a distinct white stripe in the middle. Can you tell me the complete name of this grass? We would like to buy more. -- We live in Hendersonville, NC.

Miscanthus sinensis Gracillimus has a silvery central rib and is in that size range, it is also widely sold. It might be that, however there are so many different maiden grasses it is very difficult to tell you for sure long distance. You might take a foliage sample to a nursery and hold it up against the grasses they have in stock or compare it to other labeled grasses. The overall shape of the plant and the height and color and shape of the blooms might also help you identify it. Good luck with your quest!
