|I have been told by several nurseries in the Dallas area that they no longer carry the Tiny Towers Cypress trees because they do not last. They have problems with spider mites and others problems that I can't recall.
What can I do to insure that my Tiny Towers will not die? I would love to have a couple of these trees but am hesitating because of this information. Thank you.
Mites can be a problem on junipers and cypress but are not always present in numbers high enough to cause damage. Watch for signs of bleaching out or bronzing of the foliage from early to late summer. Mites are not a fall through spring problem. If you see foliage losing color in tiny speckles place a white sheet of paper under a needled branch and thump the needles with your fingers. Then look for tiny specks moving around on the paper. Most garden center carry products for mite control. If you catch them early they won't be a major threat to your plants.
Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
