We recently bought an ensete ventricosum Manrelii. After it blooms at maturity, does it die back to the ground? When would that happen? It has a bar code sticker, marked

Ensete grows quickly to 15'-20' high and when mature it sends out a cylinder which contains flowers. After flowering, the plant dies to the ground. It then sends out new shoots from the crown of the plant. It takes only 2-5 years for this maturation process.
