|I recently planted a Fat Albert, and don't know if I'm watering enough or too much! I haven't seen any new growth since I planted it 2 months ago. Any suggestions?|
|It can take several weeks for plants to establish their roots before they have the energy to send out new growth, so you'll need to be patient with your Fat Albert. Plants tend not to grow very much when the weather is hot so that may be ocmpounding the problem. As long as your Fat Albert looks healthy, don't worry too much about new growth at this time of year.|
Most landscape trees and shrubs will be happy with about one inch of water per week during the growing season. Build a watering basin beneath your shrub and flood the basin, allow to drain, then flood a second time. This will concentrate moisture over the roots and allow the water to trickle down, wetting the entire root mass each time you water.
Best wishes with your landscape!
