Compost or Bark - Knowledgebase Question

Greetings to you

I am just about finish planting our new beds.

My question: what is better to finish the beds? Bark or Compost?

Both bark chips and compost will help aerate the soil, but I'd incorporate compost into the planting beds. As it breaks down it will provide nutrients to the soil. Bark breaks down, too, but takes much longer to do so. Compost is easier to incorporate evenly and nicer to work with when you're digging the beds and planting.
