Other than propogating vinca vine from another plant (our plant store here will not sell one before the season), how can I go about growing them? Does anyone sell seeds or cuttings? I need so many plants it is cost prohibative to do my flower boxes.

None of the seed catalogs I have handle Vinca Major seeds. I have a feeling this is because the plant is very difficult to propagate from seed. (In fact, the seed-starting book I consulted didn't even list it.) You would probably be better off purchasing a few plants and rooting some cuttings. Try the following nursery to see if you can purchase plants early in the season:

Louisiana Nursery; Rt 7 Box 43, Opelousas, LA 70570, ph# 318-948-3696

If you have your heart set on seeds, I would suggest that perhaps you check some seed companies that are in warmer climates. Perhaps they have them. The other possibility might be to go where the nurseries buy THEIR seeds! Although I would guess they propagate their own.

Try: Park Seed, Inc., 1 Parkton Ave., Greenwood, SC 29647; Wayside Gardens, 1 Garden Lane, Hodges, SC 29695; J L Hudson, Seedsman, Star Route 2 box 337, La Honda, Ca 94020;
That's the best I can do!
