HOW DO I DETERMINE WHAT THE ACTUAL CAUSE OF DISCOLORATION IS ON MY ST.AUGUSTINE LAWN? THE LAWN ALSO HAS LARGE AREAS OF BERMUDA

Firstly, I apologize for the delay in ansering your question. This type of issue is always a tough question and terribly difficult to diagnose long distance. I would suggest you work with your local county extension to try to determine what is happening and then once you know that, work from there. They may want to see samples and run some soil tests to get you started on a good preventive maintenance program. In the meantime, TAMU offers a lot of good diagnostic and lawn care information on the web site to help you get started.
