In your area this tree should be able to handle full sun all day as long as the soil is organic, humusy, and evenly moist yet well drained. Full direct sun all morning or bright dappled light all day would also be fine. I would not plant it in a spot with full afternoon-only sun however. Using an organic mulch several inches thick all season would also help. My primary concern in your area would be winter cold and winter wind exposure. This tree is rated hardy into zone 5 and while your zip code places you in zone 6A, the coldest part of that zone, depending on the microclimate where it is planted it might be as cold as zone 5. If you can protect it from winter winds that would be the most important part of siting it. Your local professional nursery staff should be able to help you determine if you have a suitable spot for this tree or not.
