I need to create a pathway to my front porch. What is the best, yet cheapest way possible?

Probably the least expensive paths are made of recycled materials such as broken concrete or used bricks laid out as paving stones. A quick path can be made using tamped gravel or bark mulch over fabric weed barrier, although gravel can damage the heels on some shoes and both of these can also be tracked indoors and make a mess. What to use though will depend on the style and building materials of your house as well as your overall design goals. You might take a look around your neighborhood for ideas, then work out a way to install something similar at low cost. Doing the work yourself is always the cheapest way to go, in most cases the materials are not all that expensive. Good luck with your project!
