My Eucalyptus Tree has deep splits and also it has some type of sap forming on some splits. I don't know if I should have the tree removed because of the possibility of it snapping and falling on anything? The tree is 20 yrs old and is my only shade tree in the yard. If this tree can be saved I would like very much to know what I can do to save it .

Sap oozing from fissures or cracks in a tree trunk is never a good sign. I don't know if the cracks were caused by high winds pulling on the canopy of the tree, or from insect or disease problems. Your best course of action is to have a certified arborist come out and assess your tree. If the damage is minor, you can probably treat it yourself. If it is a symptom of a bigger problem, the arborist can advise you on the treatments required.

Best wishes with your eucalyptus tree!
