|Your attributes for the Monler Hemlock say it can be used as a windbreak, yet I have read a lot from other sources that these trees need to be protected from high winds. Hmmm - I figured I would ask the experts, so, could you please clarify this for me? Use them as a windbreak or protect them from wind?
|Tsuga canadensis 'Monler' (sometimes sold as 'Emerald Fountain'), a more dense, formal, columnar variety that tops out at 10' while retaining a 3' width. These trees are not as tall as the species (topping out at between 70-100 feet) so windy sites won't bother them as much as they would a full grown species. You can plant them in full sunshine, in windy places, without concern.|
